This watercolor won its title "Anticipation" in a contest I held on my Facebook page "Julie Senf Art" just before entering it in our local fair. It won 2nd Place Premium at the 2014 Clallam County Fair. It is a picture of my boy and the pure concentration of the hopes of landing a fish. He had his lifejacket on and I decided to do the painting including it because it makes the statement of safety around the water. We have grown up around water all our lives and always practice safety first. This area of Washington State is Lake Roosevelt which is created from the Grand Coulee Dam. Imagination & Creativity see what can be from what there is! So much detail and emotion can be portrayed on a piece of paper by the use of a simple pencil...adding color makes it absolutely magical! It was when I became an "empty nester" that I discovered the time to enter the creative side of my brain and let it emerge. It has been a wonderful time of discovery and with the encouragement of family and friends I have ventured out to share my art with others.
