Nephrolepis exaltata, known as the sword fern or Boston fern, is a species of fern in the family Lomariopsidaceae native to tropical regions throughout the world. This evergreen plant can reach as high as 40–90 centimetres, and in extreme cases up to 1.5 metres. It is also known as the Boston swordfern, wild Boston fern, Boston Blue Bell Fern, tuber ladder fern, or fishbone fern. This watercolor is part of a series of ferns of the Olympic National Park in Washington State.

Imagination & Creativity see what can be from what there is! So much detail and emotion can be portrayed on a piece of paper by the use of a simple pencil...adding color makes it absolutely magical! It was when I became an "empty nester" that I discovered the time to enter the creative side of my brain and let it emerge.
